RETIRE EARLY, LIVE ABROAD & enjoy the simple life!
Vítejte! (Welcome!)
Dear Prospective Expat, or Immigrant,
Hi, i’m Ingrid, but folks call me Miriam, and I live in the Czech Republic. I’m a retired nurse, a freelance screenwriter and Produced Indie Filmmaker.
Are you simply tired of the rat race and are considering a life abroad but don’t know where you want to go or how to start? That was me! I had dedicated my life to the healthcare field and military service in the U.S. Air Force, and had been a “Guardian of Life” for more than 32 years taking care of the public, all while raising a family. Then, I decided that it was time to take care of me! I had watched other family members die young from stress and strife, and I said that I had to find a way out before it was too late. We all have a dream of living out our golden years in peace and serenity, and that’s when I decided to just say “Geronimo!” and jump!
So what did I do? I retired early in 2019, scraped together whatever benefits I had earned, I said “If I fail, I Fail!”, but I had to try, and I left it all behind to experience the simple life in my spouse’s beautiful country of the Czech Republic. And I haven’t looked back since.
A lot of people think that moving abroad is impossible physically and financially, but actually all it takes is some clear planning and logical strategizing. From Prague to Brno, to Village life, I cover it all on my channel. I also have some free resources for those who may be interested in doing the same.
Was it worth it? So far i’d say “Yes!” my health is better, i’m eating real non-processed food, and i’m acclimating to my new life pretty well. Another thing is that I don’t have to be afraid that if I go to the doctor for an illness, it will bankrupt me.
If you’re thinking about making the move abroad, I have some helpful tips, and resources that may help you along the way, and I am adding more over time, so no matter where your destination takes you, you can be prepared, but i’m partial to the Czech Republic, and I hope you will love it as much as I do. Thanks for taking the time to read my story, and I hope you join me on my journey, and join my community of like-minded Expats, or Immigrants, whatever you want to call us.
Live your best life any way you can….
Much love, Miriam
